The book I'm currently reading is Granted by Michelle Merrill - to be released SOON!This book takes us on the journey with Brielle, a 16 year old genie who is finally getting her magic. However to do so she must grant the wish of her assigned human! Too bad her human is Addie- a person who gave up believing in magic a long time ago. How will she convince Addie to trust? After being trapped in the Sahara Desert her whole life, sixteen-year-old genie Brielle finally gets her first assignment in Tri-Cities, Washington. In order to unlock her magic, Brielle has three weeks for her assigned human to make a wish. Unfortunately, Addie gave up believing in wishes years ago, and would much rather everyone just leave her alone.
When a nearby genie is killed, Brielle and her caretaker figure his lamp could have been broken on accident. As frustrating as Addie’s cynicism is, Brielle has enough to worry about. But after two more genies turn into ash, Brielle knows someone has discovered their secret and wants them gone.
Brielle desperately needs Addie to make a wish and to find the murderer, or she could be the next genie to die.
